goddamn this old-ass building
Our heat is busted today! I'm feeling tired and prickly and wearing two pairs of pants. Scab-cat and Fluff-cat are both poofed out for maximum heat retention. Fluff-cat is feeling particularly ornery about it all and keeps letting us know with his Whiny Three Year Old Human Baby meows.
My undergrad mentee is having a rough finals week. It makes feel like an absolute mom but I'm still texting him to ask if he's eating. College culture is deeply fucked up. I tell every undergraduate who comes through our lab that they should be working less, sleeping more and getting worse grades. Then I repeat myself until they know I'm serious. God, our secondary education system is hell on kids.
Cleaned the apartment, bought clementines and swiss rolls, wrote 75 words about amyloid-like fibrils. Not a lot, but it's something! Every time I sweep this place I somehow find so much change.
